EJAE, born Kim Eun-jae, first drew public attention as the granddaughter of legendary Korean actor Shin Young-kyun. Her journey began as a trainee at SM Entertainment during elementary school, enduring over a decade of intense training and multiple failed debut attempts. Despite the setbacks, she never gave up on her passion for music. She later enrolled at New York University, majoring in Music Business and Psychology, expanding her perspective as a future songwriter and artist.
Her breakthrough came in 2019 with Red Velvetโs hit song โPsycho,โ where she was credited as a topliner. From there, EJAE collaborated with top K-pop acts like aespa, TWICE, and NMIXX, establishing herself as a rising hitmaker. A turning point arrived when the producers of KPop Demon Hunters invited her to voice the character Rumi. Not only did she lend her vocals, but she also co-wrote the OST โGolden,โ which captivated global audiences and topped charts worldwide-earning praise as a milestone in K-pop OST history.
